Roses and Butterflies

Spent a little time at Hershey Gardens today. The newly renovated butterfly house opened last week and I was anxious to see it. Zoe and I had a magical time. And let me tell you, outside there are more roses than you can shake a stick at (7,500)! Milton Hershey's wife must have loved her roses. I am glad we got a membership as it gets us into Winterthur as well - $75 well spent!

This rose looks fake or else like it should be on a birthday cake!

"The caterpillar does all the work but the butterfly gets all the publicity."
-George Carlin

Feeding time!

Pink roses on a trellis.

"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

"Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses." Alphonse Karr

I wanted to take this owl statue home with me!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

How beautiful! Butterflies and roses - a perfect post. There is a butterfly conservatory that I really want to go back to; I'm hoping we'll have time to visit this fall. :) That owl statue IS awesome - looks like Zoe loved it, too! Theresa

I love feeding time, that is so cool. That rose does look fake but that's what macro shots do, they make them look so perfect. That is a gorgeous shot.

Great photos of a lovely place. Maizie had a field trip to Hershey Gardens and I was lucky enough to be the room mom and go too. Suffice to say, that it was our all-time-favorite field trip. We visited the old butterfly house - I am anxious to see the new one!
I didn't realize you were so close!

I love the photos and the quotes you put with them. You're always an inspiration. I can see why you like that sculpture, too!
