The Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn was a pretty neat movie back in the 80's when I was a kid. I decided to put the dvd in and show my 3 year old daughter the other day and she quickly lost interest. I guess it can't compete with today's computer animated movies like Toy Story and Wall-E.

What this post is really about is my last holiday sign of 2008. I was asked by a few people to paint another "Believe" unicorn sign and since I was without the child today and the snow was falling and I was listening to my newly created, super cool Christmas playlist (look to the right and hit the play button), I decided to comply with their wishes.
I also finished a winter welcome Dutch bunny sign. Since I was in such a good mood, I started that one out on ebay with no reserve. Yes, that's right, the bidding starts at one cent!

Both of these signs end on Friday so if the high bidder pays promptly I will get them in the mail on Saturday. Plenty of time to have them hanging for Christmas or wrapped up and under the tree for someone special.

Wow, I think I remember that movie - animated?

Love your horse paintings. They remind me of my neighbor's beautiful Friesians which I'll have to photographs some day.

I remember the Last Unicorn also. Love your new signs. I'm hoping one day I can get one of your smaller ones. I always get outbid!

Really appreciate your using my Raven in your Treasury! So sweet of you!

Jennifer, the signs are wonderful, as usual. Haha! I DO remember the movie the last unicorn, am I dating myself by saying I was 10 when I saw it?

I watched The Last Unicorn a few weeks ago (I love Netflix!) I used to watch it over and over back in the day. The music in it is great, too. **Sigh** I love that movie!

Your signs are just wonderful! :-)

Oh, and I meant to ask is The Last Unicorn sad ? I have never seen it.
Now if we were talking Lord of the Rings, Ladyhawk, or Seabiscuit, I would have said I've seen them so many times I have them memorized !

Tracey (Black Feather),
I think it is a bit sad. The music is sad too but good in an
80's kinda way. If you like fantasy, you should definately rent it. I do think the picture quality on the dvd is kind of poor.
Lots of good actors in it (Alan Arkin, Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Christopher Lee).
Go rent it and report back:)

Jen ~ "The Last Unicorn" is one of my all-time favorite movies. I had it on VHS & lost it. I bought it on DVD on eBay a year ago. Love the soundtrack by America too...it made it. Your daughter will like it when she gets a bit older.

LOVE the unicorn piece!

Wishing you & yours a most magical holidays!!!

Sssshhhh don't tell Annie Jen, but she is getting The Last Unicorn for Christmas, by her request. It will be funny to see how her dorm mates respond to it.
