Lancaster County

It's what I like about living in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, you walk out your front door and you're bound to see farm animals sooner or later. Zoe and I just walked across the street and through some woods and weeds (and poison ivy - yikes) and we found this bucolic scene complete with cows, mules, creek and buttercups. Wish I could have gotten close enough to the Canada geese couple and their newly hatched goslings, they were still yellow and fluffy! The funny part about the area where I live is that you have new $500,000+ homes and Amish farms right next door. I think it that big house looks out of place, don't you?

Taking the summer off from the computer... are you MAD!?! Sounds like the perfect anecdote for my dilemma. Happy painting Jen!

Beautiful countryside, the mule is so cute, and I love the last picture of the cows. And yes, the McMansion looks out of place, lol!

I agree, that McMansion looks like it crashed there from another planet. First Draught Farm called it - what an HVAC bill those folks must have!! So glad you braved the ivy - those mules are *gorgeous*! Once again, critters can't help but pose so well for you. What a lovely scene. Have a great day! Bonnie

The Mules are cute, loved the one standing in the water, and love the house, but yes, it is so out of place!

Sweet photos!!! And yes, the monsterous house just looks silly out there in all that space. Do you really need to live like that?? I don't think so. Totally misses the point, don't you think?

I love these pics. The mules look a lot like my team of Belgian draft mules who were once Amish farm mules. I actually love all your photos, but really enjoy these mule ones.
