I was really busy today setting up for our garage sale so I didn't get a chance to walk around my gardens much. When I was sitting in my dining room trying to relax after a very long day of hard work, I looked out the window and saw not one but TWO BABY GROUNDHOGS completely helping themselves to my garden's bounty. They didn't even have the nerve to run and hide when I took their picture.
This is what it looks like when Mother Nature laughs at you...
But of course she delights me on a daily basis with all she has given me. Singing wrens, pretty blue borage flowers, dainty Scottish Harebells and delicate mushrooms that appeared as if by magic over night. I should feel blessed with all the beauty in my garden. Perhaps I should just adopt these two rascally, orphaned ground squirrels. What do you think, time to get a fence for my veggies?

Word must have gotten around that you'll feed hose critters! I've never seen that many groundhogs.
I say a fence would be a good thing about this time ;^)

Haha Jen! Ohno! But they are cuties! Are they the babies of the two you've already caught? Maybe you should adopt them! :) I can imagine the mischief they would get into!

Oh, Jen great pictures! Your garden is way ahead of mine, it looks so good. We have had so much rain that the weeds are doing better then the plants! I have had some butter crunch lettuce though, it was great! We don't have any critters in our garden, our dog Lucy keeps them all away! :-)

It's hard to share our stuff, especially when we've worked so hard for it but what a treat to have a visit by those two rascals. My daughter has even made me start 'relocating' our garden worms!

Well, Pennsylvania IS the groundhog capital, right? We'll look for YOUR critters to tell us whether or not shadows are seen and to brace for 6 more wks of winter next year!

What a talented photographer you are Jen!! That's really too funny about the groundhog babies. Oh my, Mother nature IS poking fun at you!
We have two fat little groundhogs at the rehab center where I volunteer. They were raised by humans but will still hide from us in their tunnels occasionally. Their names are Stormy and Sunshine. They will get to stay with us as education animals since they no longer fear humans. I am leary of those long teeth but love to hand feed them their pecans.
