Attachment Issues

Yeah, that's right, I'm having issues. For some reason this year I'm having a very hard time giving up my creations. Do any other artists out there in blogland have this problem? Maybe it's all the love and attention I give to each piece that makes it more like a child than a sign, painting or sculpture. I don't know what it is but I need to make some money for Christmas!

Just listed on Ebay, 7 Christmas/Winter signs and 1 sculpture - Dash - you may have met him on a previous blog post. He looks so nice sitting on my foyer table. Everyone that sees him falls in love. I will be sad to send my baby off!

Two pieces currently on ebay...

I sometimes do have a hard time parting with items I've made. Your work is just so lovely, I can totally understand why you don't wish to part with them. I really love the unicorn...I know so many people who'd want him. I'm going to send them the link. :)
Have a great evening! Theresa

Wonderful work Jen... I love your attention to detail in your paintings. I can totally understand why you find it hard to part with your creations. I have the same problem. Especially if I have spent a long time working on a picture or a piece of jewellery.
Have a creative week.
Jo.
P.S.
Good to see you on facebook!;)

lol, this is why I have yet to list a single one of my bears for sale...

I will be able to eventually... but it's just so hard to let them go! XD

Love your work, as always :) I especially love the Unicorn!

I'm so glad you addressed this. I was showing your work to a friend (of course she was knocked out!) and her comment was about how you could let any of it go for any price! It's a business, we realized, and stuff must be sold, but yes there must be a pool of emotion with it. It's important for artists to have that relationship with their work but gosh, how hard to say goodbye. Especially somebody ("thing?") like Dash!!! OMG!!! Cheers - Bonnie

if I really love a piece, then I have problems selling it. But since space is at a premium it must go. even if I want to hang it all up on the walls.

I bet it is hard if you make something that turned out just as you envisioned or even better.

I'm still watching for a black Percheron *grin*

I do have the same problem, but I find looking at photos of my work is satisfying enough after a while. I suppose it's normal. I'm doing two pieces for just me next year and I'm looking very forward to starting them.
