O Christmas Tree!

First, I want to thank everyone so much for all the comments on my last post (if you haven't left a comment to enter my Christmas giveaway, please do). It has been a joy to read about every one's favorite Holiday memories. I encourage my readers to check out the comment section of my last post and see what people have written. Some lovely, heartwarming stories!

So we've finally gotten our Christmas tree. It was a little difficult because they were all covered in snow! I usually rush out on the first snow and take tons of photos but I was too busy shopping and then painting this weekend.

Here's the tree farm. Didn't have to drive far, it's only about a mile down our street.

Hmm... where is our tree?

Ah ha, here it is! Knock off a little snow, not too bad.

A few hours later, all gussied up. I'm loving the big, sparkly butterfly at the top I bought at Longwood Gardens this year.

And here's what I painted. Wish I could have gotten a better photo because I'm really happy with how it turned out. Just too grey a day for photos. I would LOVE to go for a ride in a sleigh like this! This 12.5" x 16.5" original sign will go up on Ebay tonight for a 3 day auction.

The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination. ~Ward Elliot Hour

The snow looks so pretty! We do not get much of that in Tennessee, only a few flakes here and there.
I can smell your tree from here...I do miss the fresh scent of a freshly cut tree.
I love the sign, just beautiful!

Wonderful photos! I love the art of getting a real tree..too bad we can't do it here.

:::Sigh:::I guess my little fake table top tree will suffice!

Love the painting too!

What a fun day! Your tree looks gorgeous and so is your sleigh painting. I'm off to add my name to your giveaway, I don't think I did that yet. Welcome home!

Disregard the welcome home comment above, I had you momentarily confused with someone else! Sorry, my brain does this from time to time!

Your tree is lovely! How fun it must have been to select one in the snow - all we got here was a mere dusting. :(

Your new painting is lovely. Very detailed. Hopefully, I didn't make you laugh too hard when I told you of my most memorable "gift." It truly was hysterical! :)

Have a great evening! Theresa

You are so lucky to have snow for your tree hunt, how perfect! :) I've never been on a sleigh ride, it is a dream of mine!!

Jen, you have more snow than we do way up here in Northern Minnesota! I love hunting for 'the' Christmas tree! One Christmas my dad made a special pair of snowshoes for me, and the next Christmas my dad, husband, and I scampered on top of a very deep snowfall through our woods on snowshoes for nearly two hours in search of 'the' tree. What a workout, but oh so much fun!

Your tree and the new 'Season's Greetings' sign are absolutely beautiful Jen!

What a beautiful tree, and how nice that you get the experience of dustin the snow from it's fresh branches. Love the icicle ornaments! Deb

No Charlie Brown trees in Jen-land, that's for sure! Beautiful tree, beautiful sign. The light reflecting on your walls makes it look like suede. Throw a snowball or two at Zoe for all of us who don't get snow!

Nice quote!

Your tree looks positively magical in that photo! I love that it isn't all trimmed and unnatural looking I really don't understand how that trend got started.

Well-chosen! A beautiful tree! It's very Christmassy to go get a tree in the snow. If the white stuff falling out my window is any indication, I'll be doing the same thing this weekend - shaking the tree first...
