I know you had a wonderful time, I have not been there in a couple of years, love this place. The deer there are beautiful also.We had a few days between shows and spent a couple days photographing and relaxing.
Hi Jen, Your photos of the Island Ponies are stunning. They look so peaceful and gentle. There does not seem to be very much for them to eat in the wild. I wonder how they survive so well? Good to see you and thank you for sharing these magical images. Jo.x
Thanks for the kind comments. We had a wonderful time. I've never been to the beach this time of year but I'll definately do it again next year. It's about 3 1/2 hours away. The ponies are not really all that wild as you can see someone went up to one and pet it (big fine if you're caught). They were really skinny, I wish they would give them a little hay in the winter. If you saw these ponies on someone's farm, you'd call the spca or humane league.
At first I thought you might be on the island in NC that has the horses, but checked and it's in MD. Just fantastic photos....each one has a special quality. Thanks for sharing these.
Jennifer thanks so much for sharing those beautiful photographs. Horses are one of my favorites too. How lucky you are to be able to go to such a wonderful place.

Beautiful captures! Are the ponies wild, yet also tame? I love their "windswept" look!
Just off to find out where is Assateague....

very cool to see :) I've always wanted to go and see these ponies
I have always loved those ponies since I read Misty when I was knee-high. How fun you went to see them in all their hairy glory!
What dreamy photos! I've always wanted to see those wild horses, I'm glad I get to 'see' them through your eyes at least :)
As the sign says wild ponies bite and kick!
They also have heartbreakingly overgrown feet but still it's somehow always a treat to go and visit them.
Lovely pictures!
Amazing--I always wondered about that island and you got to go there. WOW!! They look pretty good in the pics.
Love the pics of the ponies. We went to Assateague every year when I was growing up. The ponies look great and your shots are amazing!
