Civil War Day

Today was a day not fit for man or beast but we survived the 100+ degree temps at the Landis Valley's Civil War Day. They horses were kept in the shade until they were needed and didn't seem to be suffering. I felt so bad for the soldiers dressed in wool. Here are a few photos I was able to take. It's a bit hard when you're walking around with a 4 year old who's hot and thirsty and completely uninterested in everything that's going on around her.

We're experiencing horrible hot weather as well. :( Oh, how I FEEL for those re-enactors - but what they do is marvelous. And the poor horses - such beautiful creatures. Thank you for sharing the photos. Stay cool! Theresa

Hi Jennifer Sweetie...
Oh I love this post. What wonderful photos you captured. If you could withstand the heat I am sure it was quite an experience. The horses are just beautiful.

I feel sorry for the soldiers in their wool uniforms. It has been so hot. How dedicated they are to perform on this day.

Thank you for sharing with me. I have so enjoyed my visit today.

Have a beautiful evening. I bet you are happy to be home. I know it is hot and humid there. Here in Phoenix, we only have HOT, HOTTER and even HOTTER yet.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

What a great way to spend the day - even if it was hot.

The Landis museum has been such a great place for your family adventures! I'm so happy that you got the gift of a membership so you can show us pics year-round!
