So I took a stroll in the garden this morning to see what magic was brewing. It's been raining for 3 days straight so it was wonderful to see the sun again. I think my flowers feel the same!
This butterfly weed popped up in the yard so I have to mow around it.
I would hate to cut down such a pretty plant.
Lovely dahilas.
Montauk Daisy greeting the sun.
Can't wait to eat this lettuce!
One of my favorites right now, the Mexican sage bush.
Poke weed. I'm not a fan but it's providing a nice little spider home so I'll let it be.
This red salvia just sings to me!
Toad lily looks like it came from another planet!
My newest original Painted Pony, "Pumpkin Patch"!
Fall on one side, Halloween on the other.
And finally, after 10 years with one vehicle, we bought another car!
I am so excited... FREEDOM!
More trips to Longwood Gardens, art museums, parks, farm shows, markets - YAY!
I got to pick it out, I liked the old timey look of this car. I've always wanted a car from the 30's -50's.

Oh I can't wait to finish hacking and slashing and start planting!
I like your old-look car, how lovely to have your own "wheels" at last!now you can retire your broomstick LOL
Longwood Gardens!?!? I live in MD or did I already tell you this? Anyway, love the painted horses, clever. And, congrats on the new car ... another gal in bloggyville just wrote of her car like this ... they are cute.
Have a beautiful weekend, my friend.

Very lovely garden:) I love your attitude; if it pops up let it be! And congrats on the new car, I wish you many fun trips!
Gorgeous photos Jen! Beautiful new pony and vehicle too!!
It's good to still see flowers images. Our flowers are gone now, nearly all of our early mornings have produced frost or freezing. Even most of the Fall colored leaves have fallen to the ground.
Your dahlia is beee-utiful!!The toad lily is an odd plant isnt it? And congrats on your new car and freedom! I just got my own car over the summer and love scooting around town on my own. I named her Beatrix after my favorite author and woman before her time, beatrix Potter. What will you name your modern steed?
The picture of the dahlia is stunning!!! Congrats on the new car, too :)
...what a perfect and wonderful description of a "witch in the garden!" I'll have to pop over and check it out. Love the daisy capture with the sun in the background. I had a bunch of pokeweed appear in my yard this year too. I left it grow because it was so cool--huge and maroon, and the catbirds loved eating the berries (although I did warn my family and friends not to eat the berries).
p.s. I like those cars too...they always make me think of Bonnie and Clyde.
Beautiful photos! Love the flowers, but especially love the Painted Pony:-) We actually had rain here over the past several days, and I think our flowers are dancing with joy! And now I think know what that weird plant I finally had to cut down after the rain pounded it down too much - pokeweed. It was green, so I'd let it grow, but it was getting a bit funky-looking. It'll probably come back, as it survived someone else's inadvertent Round-Up last year. P.S. Enjoy the Cruiser, we have a 2006, and it's been such a nice car.
I think perhaps you are a "witch" in the garden. Your flowers are beyond compare! Congrats on that lovely feature. :) And congrats on your new car - it looks wonderful. Enjoy your newfound freedom to travel and take photos of more lovely things. Theresa :)
So that's what is growing in my flowerbed!!! Pokeweed!
Love your cruiser, have fun in that baby!
Haha, I drive a PT Cruiser... and LOVE it ! I have always loved old cars, so like you this is what I picked, have never been sorry... enjoy your new wheels !
