Assateague

We just got back from 5 days in Ocean City, MD. Of course I can't go to the beach without a visit to Assateague Island. When I hopped out of the car to photograph a pony, this doe jumped out of nowhere, right into the shot! You can't believe how excited I was!

An adorable little foal and his mom hanging out by the road.

Ponies, ponies everywhere. Evening seems to be the best time to go.
The wildflowers and dragon flies were also pretty.
Unfortunately my camera broke right after this last shots.

A photo bombing deer~ how cool is that? beautiful pictures as usual. I see some more paintings on the horizon. Sorry about your camera. Hope it's an easy fix. I'd be lost without mine!

Oh Jen, I love Assateague and Chincoteague! You guys really get around! How awesome. From the tails, it looks like the flies were bad as usual. Come to my house and you'll see lots and lots of deer to photograph. And of course, lots of hummers too!! Hope your camera is an easy and inexpensive fix.

Jennifer! Quick - get your camera fixed. Your photos are SO good!! The one of the ponies framed by the tree boughs is lovely.

Beautiful! I especially like the shot with the paint in front of the lovely branced out tree. The deer is indeed a bonus! Bummer about your camera. Hopefully you can bring it back to life.

I would love to go there someday! Thanks for the pictures. I think that's where they're using PZP as a population control, something I'm very interested in for our western herds.

Would you believe the last time I went to Assateague Island... I only saw ONE horse, the entire time I was there? Love your pics of the doe honing in on the shot of the horse. Also the dragonflies are gorgeous. Hope your camera gets fixed soon.
