I've been asked before why I call my business Gypsy Mare Studios. Many reasons come to mind.
The palomino mare my mother owned when I was born was named Gypsy. My mom had bought her as a baby and broke her to saddle. When I was an infant she would take me for trail rides. I blame that mare for my horse addiction. Another reason is that I associate the word gypsy with something magical and romantic; a lust for life, a passion for the open road. I always strive to put a little magic in everything I make. Through photography I enjoy showing people that magic in the world around them that they may not have taken the time to stop and notice.
Lastly, I tell them, that I dream of owning a Gypsy Vanner someday.
It was my great fortune yesterday to meet a horse most magical, D' Artagnon, the beautiful Gypsy Vanner.
I spent two hours photographing this beautiful, intelligent boy. Truth be told I could have spent days.

I don't know that I'd want to own one, but Gypsy Vanners are definitely on my to-photograph list.
What a beauty! I am addicted to them as well, though , not sure I wnat to own one, just gaze in adoration at them from afar.BTW , I got a wonderful Christmas present. My very own Signed "Emergence " Painted Pony! Beautiful ,wonderful perfect!!! I know you understand why I wanted one so much
Wonderful photos of a very beautiful horse. I especially like the salt-n-pepper in his mane and his expressive eye. Of course, the rest of him is gorgeous! I like the meaning behind your studio name.

I've always loved the Gypsy horses and wanted to have one too. They are so beautiful. Then I think that around here with all the mud I'd never keep those feathers clean.

I photographed a gypsy vanner hose once and he was sweet. A stallion at that and he was a very gentle boy. Owning one's dream horse is breathtaking. My 1/2 Friesian delights me and though he isn't full Friesian, he does resemble them more than a QH. He is under 4 and still is growing and will fill out. Love, love your photography. Just noticed you painted pony with the unicorn... That is stunning! You are so talented.
