Hopewell

On Mother's Day I got to choose whatever I wanted to do and for months now I have been wanting to go to Hopewell Furnace in Elverson, PA.
They were having a special sheep shearing day so all the buildings were open and several volunteers were there in period costume. This national park is  now one of my favorite places and it's free.
Here are just a few photos, more on my Hopewell FLICKR set

This beautiful Percheron is named Clouseau. I may have to paint him someday.

Pippy the lamb is being bottle fed since her mom didn't have enough milk.

I wanted to mention this beautiful new line of figurines.
Horse Whispers celebrates the bond between horses and girls of all ages.
Here is my favorite one (hard to choose), First Love.

I see the sign for Hopewell Furnace all the time but have never been. I should try it some time.

Your photos really capture the feel of the place! Pippy seems very content despite her poor mom's shortcomings. Sweet!
