Sun Cats

The light in our house is terrible because we have a lot of mature trees. The best time however is in the morning, in the dining room. The cats love to lie on the table or floor and bathe in the warm rays. Some days I wish I was a cat because it looks so very relaxing. I love how it lights up their ears and whiskers.

Forgot to mention that I painted another horsey Christmas sign. This one is a snowman with a Quarter Horse. It ends today if you're interested!

Today I'm working on finishing a Gypsy Vanner Christmas sign that I should have up on ebay in a day or two!

Happy Monday!

Kitten update & pumpkin carving...

Just thought I would let everyone know how our kitten, Pumpkin - Jasper - Toots, is doing. I can't believe how big he's gotten! He's been dewormed but still has some really stinky toots. He also still gets called several names. I've been letting him come outside with me and the other cats but he's so excited and adventurous, it's hard to get a proper photo.

Most look like this...

I was lucky enough to get a few nice pictures today...

And Meemee and Zazu are finally starting to make nice with the little guy. Poor thing just wants to play with them all the time!

In other/weird news. Last week I had an LA PR firm hire me to carve pumpkins in Bucks County this weekend for the DVD release of Ice Age 3. I still won't believe it until it happens, it seems like such an odd thing to be doing. Part of the deal is that I have to carve a large pumpkin the day before with a picture from the movie. That will be hard but I think I can pull it off. I bought a pumpkin this weekend and it's probably close to 100 pounds. If anyone is in the area on Saturday and Sunday, I will be at Winding Brook Farm in Warrington, PA. Looks like a nice place. I'm bringing my mom to help.

Believe it or not, I have to carve this design:

On this pumpkin...

We'll see!
Wish me luck!

Saturday is Caturday

I saw this on a few other sites so I thought I would make today Caturday! We've been really enjoying our new kitten, Pumpkin. I'm still calling him Pumpkin but my husband now calls him Jasper and my daughter calls him Toots. It's so hard when you get a new animal and can't find a name that fits.
He loves hanging out with me in my studio. He sleeps on the rocking chair I won in my first pumpkin carving competition, on a mat that I made with pumpkins on it.

Just finished 7 new pendants. Half will go to Etsy, the other ones will be on Ebay. I'd like to try and sell more on Etsy, the Ebay fees are killing me! Also toying around with starting a Halloween & dark art only blog called The Night Mare. I will also post new pieces for sale there.

Working on a lot of things this week. Started a Sleepy Hollow clock. Finishing up a big Sleepy Hollow chest which is spoken for but I will share the pictures when it's finished. I've been invited to another pumpkin carve. This one is on October 10th in Newtown Square, right outside of Philadelphia. Should be fun! I really enjoy meeting people that get as much of a kick out of Halloween as I do. Oh, and tomorrow we are going to Longwood Gardens so check back for some pretty pictures tomorrow!

Almost October

Yay, October is almost here! You can almost smell the candy corn in the air. Even the new kitten is getting in on the decorating fun! I've been thinking of changing his name to "Toots" because that little critter lays the world's stinkiest farts. Honestly, how can a 2 pound animal produce such a foul odor? It's beyond me!
I took a few quick photos this afternoon while I was yammering away on the phone.

This morning I completed the Salem Riding Club sign I spent all day yesterday working on. I thought I would put it up on my blog for sale for 2 days. If it's not purchased in 2 days, I'll put it on Ebay. It measures 11" x 14". Comes signed, varnished and ready to hang. My 3 year old is so in love with this piece since it shows a young witch riding a beautiful black horse. She told me this morning it is the prettiest thing I ever painted! I hope she lets me sell it:)
Price - $125.00 + shipping

SOLD!

And if your a big Sleepy Hollow fan like I am, please check out my current Ebay auctions. I have a handpainted box and an original painting of the Headless Horseman for sale.

Here kitty, kitty...

Well, we've had little Pumpkin for a week and he is so much fun! I forgot how playful kittens are and how much trouble they can get into.

Example: today Zoe and I were working with beads at the kitchen table when the little kitty realized he could get on the table. Then he was intrigued by the two fish bowls with bettas in them.
He first hopped on top of the smaller bowl then put his front feet on the larger bowl and proceeded to fall in, head first. If I hadn't been there, I am quite certain he would have drowned (no photo, I was too busy freaking out). No fish bowls on the table now.

Our other two cats have not quite adjusted to Pumpkin's presence. They prefer to spend their days in the garden.

Here are my newest pendants. Since I'm such a Sleepy Hollow nut, I may have to make myself one. The horsey ones are on Ebay, the spooky trees are on Etsy.
Thanks for looking!

Meet Pumpkin

Or "Punkin" as I like to call him. Our newest member of the family. Now my daughter has a kitty to call her very own. The other cats are a bit unhappy to say the least. Hopefully they will adjust soon.

Meemee & Pumpkin meet.

Poor pumpkin is afraid of Meemee.

I know, I need to paint my window sills...

What a cutie!

More Kitty Pictures

Just thought I would share a few more kitten pictures I just took. They are cute as buttons. If we keep one (big if), we will probably keep the black one. I want to call him either Edgar or Poe.
