Yellow in my garden...

But be bright,
bright,
bright as yellow,
warm as yellow.

~The Innocence Mission

“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”

~Georgia O'Keeffe

"He is happiest who hath power to gather wisdom from a flower."
~Mary Howitt

"The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards him."
~Auguste Rodin

I have been planning anyellow garden in honor of my Mom, it's her favorite color. I have lots of yellow right now with all the blooming spurge! I will be moving my golden Larch tree and all my Forsythia shrubs out there too, along with some baby Witch Hazel. Also I want to pick up some yellow Iris for the yellow garden. If I want to gamble, I'll put in some yellow Banksian roses (gamble with the hungry deer, that is.) Is that yellow Echinacia I see in your post? Really pretty pictures. Have a great day! Bonnie

Thanks for the kind comments!

The flowers pictured are as follows:
1. top - yellow rose - old, was here when we bought the house
2. yellow osteospernum, red yarrow in the background
3.macro shot of yarrow with teeny tiny bee
4.??? something I dug up at my mom's house. I thought it was evening primrose but now I don't know
5. Leopard's Bane - just got it - one of the only daisy like flowers that loves shade.

The contrast of the yellow and red in the 2nd photo is wonderful. I won't have any yellow flowers until the black-eyed susans bloom, which usually not until the first week in July.
