Finally!

My husband thinks I'm absolutely nuts. I sit in front of the hummingbird feeder everyday, for what must seem like hours to him, in quest of that holy grail of garden photos - the hummingbird shot. Well, it's not perfect, but I was just able to get a few. And it's only the female, who seems friendlier to me than the male but not quite as showy. She's so cute. I love her long tongue. Wonder what I should name her?

Also started working on my horsey Halloween pieces. I'll be adding the first one, a ghostly Paint Horse, tonight on Ebay!

Your hummer pics are very good. I too have sat & sat only to delete every shot! You've inspired me to get back out there and try again.
Love the halloween horse. I must get over & see your auctions.

Love the hummers! My sister and I sat and watched hers for quite a while yesterday - it was fun and I snapped a few pictures, too =)

Oooh so beautiful! Your patience really paid off, didn't it? Funny how guys think things are a waste of time unless it is their project. Cute Halloween horse!

I have been lucky photograping the hummers around our place. We have a pair of Anna's and Rufus hummingbirds, do you know what variety yours are? Hard to tell from the female.

For curious minds, she's a ruby throated hummingbird. The only kind that live east of the Mississippi. Thanks for the comments, I'd love to get a shot of the male.
