Ren Faire

We went to the last day of the season for the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire yesterday since we had some tickets we hadn't used and it's right up the street from us. If you are a teacher in PA, you can get 2 free tickets. For the first time Zoe enjoyed watching some of the performances and she really enjoyed talking to the women in costume - not the men, they scared her. It was also the first time I went in costume and I like how people wanted to interact with you more. Fun, fun!
It was getting cold and dark so we didn't stay for the final joust but it was nice walking around anyway.

Zoe meets a fairy.

This awesome knight was accompanying the fairy.

A night mare at the gates. More pictures of this cool prop on my other blog.

Some little ren faire skellies!

This pmpkin man was on the other side of teh main gate. He was SO COOL and HUGE! His innards were spooky gourds.

Nearly full moon lit our way when the sun went down. It was magical!

I fell in love with this carved dragon.

Wow, Jen, sounds like great fun! I love all of the props too. I miss going to Renaissance festivals :( Maybe we'll go to the one in Sterling Forest near us next year!

Great pics - the faery and gorgeous knight really touch my heart. I agree that the pumpkin is super-super spooky, really imaginative for him to have the gourd-guts!! Ren faire is great.

How fun! I used to go to the faire every year when I was younger.

Ahhhh, Ren Faires! Huzzah!! Fantastic photos Jen! Ours (Olde World) is too early in the season to feature the pumkins, harvest, etc., instead the site fills with magical northern MN dragonflies! Going in garb does add a whole extra dimension, and I love it!

Yes indeed! HuZahhh! Wonderful photos! Our Ren Faire is in April&May when it's often quite hot out. Yours looks wonderfully blustery, enchanting and way cool! I used to compete in the Tournament of Horses at our Ren Faire... in the days of old. Fun!

I am jealous. We don't really have good Ren Faire here. It looks like fun was had by all.

I just love going to Ren Faires! They are so much fun. I always enjoy going to the shows and listening to traditional music. We have a great one here in Connecticut - most of the time, I do dress up for it. ;) Thanks for sharing the photos. That carved dragon is just WAY too awesome!!! How I'd love to have that in my little studio. :) Theresa
