Beautiful blooms on Wednesday!

"If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." ~Terri Guillemets

I awoke this morning to find that the iris have started blooming! I was so excited, I rushed out to take pictures as the sun was rising. You can see my neighbor's meadow, err, yard, in the background. He hasn't mowed it yet this spring. I think he's making hay or something over there.
A lovely chive flower.

Perennial sage, one of my favorites. I think I have about 5 different kinds.
The flag unfurls. When I was a kid, we called them flags. Did you?

I was really excited about allium last year and planted about 15 bulbs around the garden.

Sweet pink columbine.

A luscious fuschia spiderwort.

And here is something that doesn't belong in this post but I had to share, my Bride of Frankenstein painting created for EHAG's B&W Fright Challenge. I'll be listing her on ebay this week! Isn't she a beauty?

"My spirits were elevated by the enchanting appearance of nature; the past was blotted from my memory, the present was tranquil, and the future gilded by bright rays of hope and anticipations of joy." ~ Mary Shelley

Your flowers are way ahead of our's in CT. I have a lot of the same stuff you do but it is no where near blooming yet. My allium are just tiny green balls still. Do you have the giant ones? I have some of giant and smaller ones and my chives do not have any flowers yet either.
The Perennial sage is nice, I don't have any of that.
Same with the Iris, no flowers yet here.

Love your bride painting too!

How fitting that you quoted Mary Shelly right after the Bride of Frankenstein portrait :)

It's gorgeous, by the way--all of it!! I can't believe you have such fabulous flowers growing in your own yard. We have...um...corn LOL

Your flowers are looking so lovely. Our irises haven't bloomed yet, but they're getting ready to pop soon. :) Who would have thought that chive flowers could be so pretty?
By the way, your Bride of Frankenstein is just amazing! Wonderful work, Jenn! :) Theresa

I have never heard or seen flags before. It looks like a strange shaped rose... I love this time of year when all the flowers unfold for Spring.
Great portrait of the bride of Frankenstein... Wonderful painting!

You're way ahead of us seasonally.
Iris always make me think of pointed ballet slippered feet!
