Barn Photos in Black & White

It was snowing quite heavily when Zoe and I made our way to the barn to see Rosie. Her owner is in sunny Cancun this week and we are caring for her on days we usually don't. We both really enjoy it!

Rosie is such a gentle mare.

Zoe tries to take her blanket off but can't manage the hooks yet.

Sophie the warmblood weanling is giving me the hairy eyeball!

Zoe loves Rosie and attaches herself to Rosie's leg after riding.
Honestly one of the sweetest horses I have ever met. I don't even attach a leadrope on her when Zoe rides, she follows me around the indoor like a puppy dog. She even jogs when I do!
How lucky we are to have this opportunity!

I bless the hoss from hoof to head -
From head to hoof, and tale to mane! -
I bless the hoss, as I have said,
From head to hoof, and back again!

Great photos! I love all the ones with Zoe and the first one is a very interesting shot. Looks like that hoof is just packed with snow.

Wonderful photos! Love the one of Rosie hanging her head over the gate & looking at Zoe. Rosie is such a sweet horse. How fortunate for you to have the chance to spend time with her.

The final picture speaks volumes --look at the smile on both faces. PS: Keep her with the people when you are there and are cleaning ... and remember she can't scratch "way back there" and will love you even more if you do.

Stunning photographs, and such a sweet mare. Haha, so is it crazy to even envy someone CLEANING stalls of horses? At least to get a closeup of these marvelous creatures? :)

Wow, your collection of B/W stable shots are wonderful.
Your Zoe and Rosie...oh my, gorgeous little girl spirit with a horse! Her hugging Rosie's leg~a priceless shot!
I do also love her hanging over the arena gate, to love on Zoe.

Isn't it nice when you asked to help, and the dream of being the sole care giver of you lovely horse comes true! There its nothing like it, and that quote does amplify that.

I like your new header on the blog.

Beautiful photos...I think horses are beautiful creatures....not being raised around them....they do intimidate me somewhat. Your art work is gorgeous and I will be adding you to my photography blog.
By the way I found you through Life On A Southern Farm blog.

So nice to see your little one shares your love of horses. I had horses as a kid and we used to just hop on bareback and go riding in the woods almost everyday and be gone for hours. I hope she continues to ride and you too must be so happy to be back in the saddle!

I love horses like that. They take care of the kids and are very sweet. Most of mine are like that and my first horse that taught me and my daughter to ride was like that.
