Twister & Rosie

Twister is a twenty-something POA (Pony of the Americas) gelding that lives at the barn we visit.
Zoe just loves him and he is as sweet as he looks.

Of course we still love Rosie too! Zoe is getting better at controlling her in the indoor.
She looks so tiny on that big horse, makes me a bit nervous!
She had lost interest in the barn for several months but wanted to visit last week. On the way home she said that she forgot how much she liked horses.

Last week I completed my first holiday sign of the season (sold).
As with all my work now, I show it first on the Gypsy Mare Studios Facebook page
Working on a Shire now and hope to complete a Appy Holidays sign soon too!

Camden Children's Garden

On Saturday we went to the Camden Children's Garden which is adjacent to Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ (definitely not a place known for it's lovely gardens). I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a garden and it's fairytale, Alice in Wonderland and Dinosaur themes. There were also a few rides and several activities for kids. What there were not a lot of were children and that was a shame!
(Love that hummingbird carousel creature above!)

A gorgeous pink azalea blooming in front of a vibrant yellow forsythia, color bliss!

I want this huge dino in my garden.
He's made entirely out of car parts!

Cherry tree blooming in front of Alice's tea cups.

The cougar is forever chasing the rooster on the carousel.

They even have a butterfly house!

Did you know that Walt Whitman spent his last years in Camden?
I didn't but here is his statue in the gardens and you can visit his house too.

Barn Photos in Black & White

It was snowing quite heavily when Zoe and I made our way to the barn to see Rosie. Her owner is in sunny Cancun this week and we are caring for her on days we usually don't. We both really enjoy it!

Rosie is such a gentle mare.

Zoe tries to take her blanket off but can't manage the hooks yet.

Sophie the warmblood weanling is giving me the hairy eyeball!

Zoe loves Rosie and attaches herself to Rosie's leg after riding.
Honestly one of the sweetest horses I have ever met. I don't even attach a leadrope on her when Zoe rides, she follows me around the indoor like a puppy dog. She even jogs when I do!
How lucky we are to have this opportunity!

I bless the hoss from hoof to head -
From head to hoof, and tale to mane! -
I bless the hoss, as I have said,
From head to hoof, and back again!
