Winter Garden

O, wind,
If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?
~Percy Bysshe Shelley

A light snow has fallen on Lancaster County overnight and the dreary brown garden looks lovely in her soft, white blanket. I love snow and we haven't had much of it this winter.

Metal sun swirls with cone flower seed heads.

Copper tea kettle birdhouse is vacant.

Lavender still looks lovely.

Love the rusty hue of the sedum seed heads.

Even Pumpkin Pie wants to check out the snow (not for long).

My studio art table has been taken over by Zoe. I can't believe she will turn 5 this month! Where does the time go?  We have both been enjoying our riding time with Rosie. Zoe is all excited about trotting. She has excellent balance and we've been practicing standing in the stirrups, turning and stopping.

And I was so happy this week to learn that I won 2nd place in

Once they start school, time just FLIES! Hold on tight and have fun on the ride. She'll be going off to college before you know it.

Oh my goodness--they grow up fast. Your house always has such a magical spirit about it--and Zoe looks so happy. The fact that you're riding together, painting together--that's priceless.

I love the tea kettle bird horse, btw!
