Philadelphia Flowergasm

To celebrate my birthday, my Mom took me to the Philadelphia Flower Show. I have always wanted to go but never got around to it until yesterday. OMG, it was the most amazing thing ever!
When we got there, they had a huge area set up for wine and alcohol tasting (fyi, rootbeer liquor + whipped cream vodka = awesome). Then we went to Reading Terminal Market for a much needed bite to eat (also so we would remember we went to the flower show after all that liquor).

This is the first thing you see when you walk in the doors, so beautiful!
Flowers everywhere, and the smell was heavenly.
The theme this year is Springtime in Paris.

Have you ever seem a flower bouquet so large?

The epitome of romance.

Phantom display set up complete with music.

Zebra mallow and black eyed susans, some favorites.

I would LOVE to have this little bistro building!
The carousel set up in the background was entirely made up of flowers and plants.

I loved this recycled materials wall of plants and birdhouses!

Another trashy masterpiece, one of several vignettes made with garbage. When the spotlight was shown on it, it looks like a can-can dancer!

I love this old car buried in a garden setting.

There were so many plants displayed for judging from orchids to window boxes to topiaries.

My favorite display was 'Paris Underground'. Loads of skulls and flowers.

Roses made out of newspaper on this old bicycle.

Anemones in test tubes tied to a fence.

Very cool jewelry made entirely out of dried plant material.
This dragonfly necklace was a blue ribbon winner.

This is what Robyn S. Spagnolo used to make this necklace.
I wonder if you could wear it or if it was just for show.

Even hats and dresses with flowers and leaves.

The vendors had me wishing I was rich!
I would love to see this whirligig in motion!

Back on the train to head home.
Thank you Philadelphia!

I told you, I told you, lol!!! It's been a few years since I've made it, and it's doubtful I could walk the whole thing these days, but there's absolutely nothing like the Philadelphia Flower Show, *sigh*...

Flowergasm, indeed, lol!

WOW! I will have to remember that! If I am ever able to travel that far for a flower show, that would be the one to go to! The smell must just have been extraordinary. Makes me kind of ashamed at my simple gardens, LOL. Thank you so much for sharing, great photos as always!
