I'm about the only person I know that loves to watch the gulls at the beach.
They are sneaky, smart and fearless.
Before our beach trip I learned that the Cape May/Avalon area is a major hub for bird migration.
More info:
While I didn't see anything out of the ordinary,
I did get some nice shots of gulls, pipers and even some swans.
The gull below was doing a little dance in the water to dredge up food.
It was really funny to watch.
I love to watch the sand pipers run back and forth.

Love your shore bird shots Jen!!
wonderful gorgeous photos! You could link this up with Watery Wed., the link is on my post and it just started a few min. ago.
Great shots, Jen! I have never seen one as close up as your first photo. The gulls with the grey eyes have quite a predatory look to them. And the sandpipers are adorable. Thank you for sharing your photos!
I love watching the shore birds! One of my favorite pictures that I have ever taken with my Canon (that I have apparently misplaced) is of a seagull in Ocean City, NJ. :3

Beautiful photos!
I LOVE watching gulls at the beach too. When I was a teen I wrote a poem about it. Your photographs of the birds are stunning. But I have to admit I want to be sitting inside the one with the sunset. Magnificant. Take care.
SO many great photos....I too love Seagulls! Not too many people do lol. I just find them so funny and determined.
Sandpipers are my favorite. Loved them so much when we lived on the California coast. Your photos are just perfect, really!!
I thought id stop by and post a comment since im checking out some new blogs. So greetings from the Amish settlement of Lebanon ,Pa. Richard from Amish Stories.
i like watching the gulls on the beach and harbour. Its neat seeing how they have adapted to life among humans and how they act with the other birds. they are becoming a big problem here tho, grabbing food right out of people's hands :/
