Longwood

What a gorgeous day to look at flowers! Here are some beauties, up close and personal:)

I just love this sculpted concrete planter, I want to make one!

PS. I think this planter was made out of hypertufa - you can make it by following this link.

Hi Jenny, beautiful post & pics. Your garden & painted pony are gorgeous too...

Thank you for your super comments on my EARTH DAY post. Comments are important to me because they are a positive reinforcement that people like what I take the time to post about.

Great Earth Day Go Green Plant A Tree & Compost... I need to start composting too. Do you have a special way you compost? I planted 36 fruit trees last year on Earth Day. Eighteen in my yard & eighteen for our Pacific Coast Line (Southern California Save The Coast Efforts).

Oprah Winfrey has also included this vital information as well & maybe we can stop the insane Japanese killing of thousands of these beautiful Dolphins!

Beautiful pictures, Jennifer!!! Love the big planter, how cool! I love flowers but don't plant many anymore, too much to take care of and in the summer I divide my time between vegetable gardening and the horse.
Your garden is always so beautiful, can't wait to see more of it this year!
hugs....

Wow amazing photo's and that planter is spectacular! My sister in law has made some nice stuff from concrete, a few leaf birdbaths from Rhubarb leaves and hosta's. I am going to show this to her.

Sounds like you like flowers as much as me if not more! :)

I love your photos of the blooms close up. I always joke that spring is time for "flower porn"
LOL.

I have to add my wow to the rest. What is that yellow flower?? My tulips just started opening--what a treat. I want to plant even more bulbs this year!! I think I'm addicted.

I loved that planter! We have his cousin in our garden. He bears a delightful resemblance to one of my dear freinds, so we call him Bernie, in tribute. Bernie has holes in the base and last year a family of tiny field mice set up camp over the winter.

Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful photos! I so love the one with the bee. :) I can imagine Longwood is just glorious this time of year!!! I was enchanted in the fall, but I can only imagine ALL of the delights you saw during this visit. :) Will have to start convincing the hubby for springtime trips! :) Theresa
